**Contract - 4- 6 month agency contract with a view to being extended on an ongoing basis.**
**Full Time Role.**
**Location - Tameside, OL6 7PT.**
**Rate of pay: £350 - £400 per day depending on experience**
**_About the role;_**
We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive and driven Service Unit Manager to lead our Leaving Care Service to achieve the best outcomes for our Cared for Children and Care Leavers.
**_About you;_**
- You will need to ensure that the service is working towards our vision to provide an aspirational service to our children in care and care leavers and are able to work flexibly and creatively in order to achieve this.
- You will need to be committed to providing the best possible outcomes for children in care and care leavers and ensure that corporate parenting principles and the local care leaver offer is being applied.
- You will be responsible for managing Team Managers (Leaving Care Team & Transition Support), whilst driving the necessary changes within the service.
**Main Purpose of Job;**
- To ensure better outcomes for all through delivery of the aims, objectives and values of the Directorate vision and strategy for children and young people.
- To provide day to day leadership across a range of service areas in order to develop models of working; service improvement and service redesign.
- To ensure effective budget monitoring in the relevant service area.
- To adopt a project management approach to service improvement across several areas whilst managing the interface with other parts of the organisation.

- Experience within a similar setting is essential.
