The opportunity is to join a market-leading team in a fast growing asset class due to an increased demand from corporates for financing and the continued liquidity and capital constraints faced by many banks. WCS provides financing for both local and global businesses, enabling companies to optimise the management of their cash and working capital.Role RelationshipsReporting to Portfolio Manager – WCS, this role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to experience and work across all aspects of the WCS strategy for a 360 degree view of the business across investment and credit analysis, portfolio construction, capital raising, and new product development.The Portfolio Management Analyst will work closely with:WCS Portfolio ManagersMembers of WCS Operating Committee (Head of WCS, Senior PM, Head of Origination, Head of BD/Distribution, Head of Risks, WCS COO)WCS functional teams (Finance, IR, Credit, Legal, Ops, IT)Pemberton oversight teams (Compliance, PAMSA, Internal Audit)Role Responsibilities· New Investmentso Work with Portfolio Managers to source, evaluate, negotiate and structure new investments from banks and platforms.o Work with Origination, Portfolio Management and Credit to write investment memos for new assets including allocation proposals.· Portfolio Managemento Support Portfolio Managers in the portfolio construction and allocations to hit target returns, ensure compliance with relevant risk and ALM limits.o Prepare weekly liquidity tracker / monthly factsheet / performance reports with Finance and Investor Relations.o Review monthly obligor financials together with Credit team.o Support Portfolio Managers in the management of the performance and operational risks of the SMAs, levered vehicles and leverage facilitieso Review annually and improve the Portfolio Management procedure and contribute to other processes and policies of WCS· Distributiono Work with Portfolio Management and Distribution teams to select originated assets suitable for distribution.o Work with Distribution to prepare investment summaries for potential investors.o Work with Distribution team to assist investors in their due diligence and closing process.· Capital Raisingo Review RFPs and investor Q&A prepared by IR.o Support the Head of WCS/ Portfolio Managers in capital raising meetings as required.o Support BD / Distribution Team on calls with investors as required.· Projects and Product Developmento Support the Portfolio Managers in the delivery of the projects assigned by WCS Operating Committeeo Contribute to the design and delivery of new investment products for WCS clientsCompliance and ESG ResponsibilitiesIn performing regulated and unregulated activities for the firm, the Portfolio Management Analyst will follow the Individual Conduct rules:· Act with integrity.· Act with due care, skill, and diligence.· Open and cooperative with the FCA, the PRA and other regulators.· Pay due regard to the interests of customers and treat them fairly.· Observe proper standards of market conduct.· Ensure all Portfolio Management activity takes into consideration sustainability factors to maximise corporate sustainability and support the firm’s diversity and inclusion objectives.Person SpecificationWork Experience & Qualifications· Strong undergraduate degree pass and MBA or other relevant postgraduate degree.· Preferrable to have a minimum of one year experience in private credit asset management or working capital finance (trade finance, trade receivables / payables).· Strong skills in modelling and credit/financial analysis.Key Qualities· Ability to take on new projects and quickly identify key issues.· Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.· Strong communication skills including presentation to senior management and at Board level.· Demonstrable sales and closing skills.CultureEveryone at Pemberton strives to and identifies with the following:· Builds trust and credibility.· Is polite, respectful, collaborative, with a strong service ethic.· Plans and prioritises effectively but is flexible and can work with complexity and ambiguity.· Identifies key issues and provide optimal, evidence-based solutions.· Is determined and resilient.· Brings innovative and transformational thinking.· Demonstrates a risk and compliance mindset.The duties and responsibilities described here are not exhaustive; additional assignments may be required.
