Clinical Research Fellow in Respiratory

This is an exciting opportunity for a fellow with an interest in sleep ventilation and respiratory medicine to work with key investigators on new research studies. The post holder will support the design and conduct of the research, analyse data, participate in research meetings and prepare manuscripts emerging from the work. The role also involves oversight of a multisite UK trial on transcutaneous electrical stimulation for obstructive sleep apnoea (TESLA‑MICRON, NIHR funded). Responsibilities Screen and recruit potentially eligible patients in respiratory / sleep medicine. Obtain consent and enrol participants. Support the randomisation process. Support, follow‑up and conduct clinical assessments of enrolled study participants according to the protocol. Coordinate with the R&D team and collaborators. Collect and analyse quantitative/qualitative study data and maintain the database. Prepare study documents, R&D and ethics applications and approvals, study materials and reports. Work with key stakeholders, including sponsor (Zeus), funder (NIHR) and patients/public (PPIE). Oversee trial management at other sites and troubleshoot issues. Prepare documentation required by sponsor, funder, MHRA, REC and R&D. Present and disseminate results and progress through conferences (abstracts) and research manuscript publications. Manage clinical trials in line with GCP principles. Recruit, consent and randomise participants in a UK‑based, multi‑centre RCT. Communicate with patients/participants regarding the intervention/usual care and organise follow‑up/sleep studies/assessments. Attend relevant site visits, the trial steering committee (TSC) and data monitoring committee (DMC) meetings. Document case report forms (CRFs) and adverse events (AEs). Adhere to GCP and HTA guidelines at all times. Work with R&D, REC and HRA to secure appropriate authorisations. Participate in clinical and other service activities to ensure a high standard of patient care. Engage in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training.
