The candidate must have extensive experience in paediatric and general radiology. A second area of subspecialist interest would be desirable. The successful applicant will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team of 12 consultant radiologists. There will be an average of 8 PAs of direct clinical care and 2 PAs are allocated for supporting professional activities over a 4 day working week, with the possibility for an additional PA should the successful applicant wish to work over 5 days. All Consultants have the option of 1 day working from home should they wish. Main duties of the job The main duties of the post will be as follows: · To provide, in conjunction with consultant colleagues, a comprehensive radiology service. · To provide an imaging advisory service for the hospital together with other Consultants in line with an agreed job plan with on call rota and prospective cover · To liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners and community services. · To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary working within the radiology department. · To participate in the governance process. · To take part in continuing medical education activities Working for our organisation Since becoming a Foundation Trust in 2004, the Trust has maintained its reputation as a high performing provider, delivering quality patient and service user care whilst also achieving compliance with key performance and regulatory requirements. Detailed job description and main responsibilities It is anticipated the job plan will consist of: 2 sessions Ultrasound, 1 session MR, 2 sessions CT (1 acute CT and 1 session cold reporting), 1 session NICU X-ray reporting, 1 session meetings (interesting cases, neonatal and paediatric x-ray meetings), 1 session On Call and 2 SPAs. Part time applications would be considered. Person specification Qualifications On GMC’s specialist register relevant to the post or a Specialist Registrar who is within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC’s specialist register by date of interview FRCR (or equivalent) Other higher degree or diploma (e.g. MD, PhD) MRCP or equivalent Relevant experience in speciality/sub speciality Extensive experience in Paediatric imaging. Participation in paediatric multidisciplinary team meetings Fellowship in paediatric imaging Clinical skills Able to report a range of CT imaging independently. Proficient in performing general adult and paediatric ultrasound Competent reporting plain x-ray, including NICU X-rays Adult neuro and spine MR reporting experience Paediatric and Neo-natal Neuro and MSK MR Ability to perform and report MCUGs and barium swallows.
