OverviewConsultant Radiologist - Subspecialist Interest Paediatric ImagingThe closing date is 20 October 2026This is a substantive post for a general radiologist with a subspecialist interest in paediatric imaging. The candidate must have extensive experience in paediatric and general radiology. A second area of subspecialist interest would be desirable.The successful applicant will be joining a highly motivated and enthusiastic team of 12 consultant radiologists. There will be an average of 8 PAs of direct clinical care and 2 PAs are allocated for supporting professional activities over a 4 day working week, with the possibility for an additional PA should the successful applicant wish to work over 5 days. All Consultants have the option of 1 day working from home should they wish. Main duties of the jobThe main duties of the post will be as follows:To provide, in conjunction with consultant colleagues, a comprehensive radiology service.To provide an imaging advisory service for the hospital together with other Consultants in line with an agreed job plan with on call rota and prospective coverTo liaise effectively and on a timely basis with General Practitioners and community services.To maintain and promote team and multi-disciplinary working within the radiology department.To participate in the governance process.To take part in continuing medical education activitiesAbout usSince becoming a Foundation Trust in 2004, the Trust has maintained its reputation as a high performing provider, delivering quality patient and service user care whilst also achieving compliance with key performance and regulatory requirements.In January 2014 the Trust launched a new organisation strategy, Achieving Together. This strategy sets out our priorities, goals and values for going beyond our current high standards and establishing the Trust as one of country\'s foremost health providers with a reputation for quality, innovation and leading the way on service integration.Job responsibilitiesIt is anticipated the job plan will consist of: 2 sessions Ultrasound, 1 session MR, 2 sessions CT (1 acute CT and 1 session cold reporting), 1 session NICU X-ray reporting, 1 session meetings (interesting cases, neonatal and paediatric x-ray meetings), 1 session On Call and 2 SPAs. Part time applications would be considered.Person SpecificationQualificationsOn GMC\'s specialist register relevant to the post or a Specialist Registrar who is within 6 months of being admitted to the GMC\'s specialist register by date of interviewFRCR (or equivalent)Other higher degree or diploma (e.g. MD, PhD) MRCP or equivalentRelevant experience in speciality/sub specialityExtensive experience in Paediatric imaging.Participation in paediatric multidisciplinary team meetingsFellowship in paediatric imagingClinical skillsAble to report a range of CT imaging independently.Proficient in performing general adult and paediatric ultrasoundCompetent reporting plain x-ray, including NICU X-raysAdult neuro and spine MR reporting experiencePaediatric and Neo-natal Neuro and MSK MRAbility to perform and report MCUGs and barium swallows.Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation TrustFull-time,Part-time,Flexible working,Compressed hours #J-18808-Ljbffr
