Senior Financial Analyst – Howden Summary of the role Joining the Business Intelligence team, you will be responsible for providing financial, accounting, and data‑driven insights to the (re)insurance industry and leading strategic client projects directly. Your work will be integral to helping grow Howden Re's client base through innovative data and technology. You will lead and produce client work, create presentations for key stakeholders, and participate in key decision‑making to support Howden Re's growing and innovative Business Intelligence team. Responsibilities Provide a range of financial and accounting analysis, benchmarking, and insights to stakeholders in the industry. Engage with clients to develop their strategic objectives and execute on deliverables and KPIs. Deliver financial and strategic reports and uncover new opportunities for insights. Act as the key contact with senior level stakeholders internally to ensure financial insights are delivered. Develop data strategies to effectively support decision‑making. Analyse, interpret, and visualise data to deliver insights and solutions to the commercial (re)insurance market. Explore competitive market strategies through analysis of related products and market trends. Present findings to all levels of management. Requirements Engaging and inquisitive personality, always looking to solve problems and find solutions. Business acumen and intellectual curiosity. Experience building presentations and analysing data in Microsoft Office and Power BI (preferable). Knowledge of financial analysis is imperative. Confidence to work with senior management and present solutions to facilitate opportunities. Finely‑tuned data skills and awareness of data quality, integrity checking, and reconciliation. Ability to absorb information and proactively take initiative in problem‑solving. Superb attention to detail, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. Organised self‑starter with drive and dedication; able to finish work with little supervision. Highly Desirable Experience within the (re)insurance industry. Understanding of specific accounting standards, such as IFRS 17.
