Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer who will contribute to the specification, design and documentation of condition monitoring systems for deployment to users in the power industry, globally. This role will be based at our Bere Regis UK office reporting to the Director of the Innovation Centre for Online Systems (ICOS). Essential Job Functions Control panel design: schematic and layout Industrial network design Technical documentation for manufacturing Customer documentation, including maintenance and user guides Technical support for installation and commissioning teams Creation of sub-assemblies and component libraries for scalable system design Qualifications Education: Degree or HND in an engineering design discipline, e.g. electrical, electronic, instrumentation, etc. Experience in appropriate areas will add weight to qualifications. Required Experience: A minimum of 10 years’ experience of electrical design Use of Electrical CAD, e.g. Eplan Production of internal and customer documentation Knowledge of electrical wiring standards Test plan authoring Demonstration of strong system integration skills Preferred Experience (Not Required): Some working knowledge of Solidworks 3D Some working knowledge of Altium, or similar PLC programming, e.g. CODESYS EMC and safety compliance PCB design review and troubleshooting Equipment fault diagnosis Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Must be able to work in a distributed team environment in a collaborative manner Ability to express ideas clearly in both written and oral communications in English Ability to independently plan and organize one’s own activities Must be a good problem solver Development of technical documents to a high standard The ability to assist the team with tasks outside of core job functions as the need arises Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use fax machines, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers and customers.
