Activities Assistant La Fontana Care Home – Martock, Somerset Contract: Part Time, 22.5 hours per week, day shift. Salary: £12.21 per hour. Location: La Fontana Dementia Nursing Home is nestled on the outskirts of Martock, surrounded by the stunning Somerset countryside. This purpose‑built, modern home provides specialist Dementia and Nursing care for up to 76 residents. We are looking for a special person who truly believes in bringing joy, variety, and meaning into the lives of our residents every day. With a genuine passion for working with older people, you will be sociable, creative, fun‑loving, and above all well‑organised. Caring for our residents goes far beyond a game of bingo or an afternoon in front of the television – it is about ensuring every day is filled with moments to look forward to. Our Activities Assistants are the heart of this: creating experiences that inspire connection, laughter, and a sense of belonging. You will take the time to get to know each resident personally, understanding their preferences, life history, and individual care needs – from low‑level support through to dementia and nursing care – and designing activities that are inclusive, stimulating, and enjoyable. What We Offer £12.21 per hour Contracted to 22.5 hours per week Pension scheme, Onsite parking Paid DBS, Uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full‑time contract) What You Will Do You will plan and deliver a monthly programme of group and one‑to‑one activities that cater to a wide range of interests and abilities. You will encourage residents to stay active, maintain cherished hobbies, and try new things. You will promote social interaction, building a warm and positive atmosphere within the home. You will also keep accurate records of all activities, ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to take part in something meaningful to them. You have experience in planning and delivering activities or events, and you work well both independently and as part of a team.
