About the Team The Funded Startups team is dedicated to winning all top venture capital backed startups in EMEA. We achieve this by combining subject matter expertise with robust collaboration within the startup ecosystem. Our focus is on identifying and partnering with high‑potential startups, assisting them in monetizing their products, scaling globally, and creating new revenue streams. By bringing the next generation of high‑potential users to Stripe, we aim to support Stripe’s mission to increase the GDP of the internet while fostering sustainable growth. What you’ll do In this role you will create partnerships between Stripe and the most innovative and fastest‑growing founders of funded startups in your region by helping them understand how Stripe’s financial infrastructure and solutions can support their growth ambitions and create a competitive advantage for their businesses. As an Account Executive on the Funded Startups team, you’ll identify new opportunities for our clients to get the most out of Stripe’s growing product suite by thoroughly understanding their needs and advising them on how to leverage market‑leading financial solutions to their advantage. You will create and drive campaigns to build new sales pipeline and work with users on increasing their Stripe adoption. Responsibilities Identify high‑potential prospective startups from inbound leads and outbound prospecting Own the full sales cycle from lead to close for startups and small/medium businesses Develop and implement full sales cycle strategies for driving product adoption, net new product sales, and client retention Represent Stripe in the local startup ecosystem and help us grow our footprint further Work together with the investment partnership team on VC portfolio analyses and founder‑focused gatherings Work with the other in‑country go‑to‑market teams as well as our Dublin HQ on shared initiatives and represent the Funded Startups team at regional events Solve complex client needs and work across product, sales, risk, and operations teams to improve our product Generate your own leads through cold calling, blitzing, research, networking, and driving your territory Make every potential Stripe user happy with every interaction, regardless of deal size Identify and understand users’ pain points to propose Stripe solutions Make sure internal teams are set up for users’ success by coordinating with other Stripe teams such as Solution architects, SDRs, Marketing, Product, and many more Who you are We’re looking for a well‑rounded strategic seller who can build strong relationships with Stripe’s users and manage high‑velocity deal cycles. Our funded users are some of the most ambitious and demanding customers; a successful candidate will match their curiosity, speed, and passion to build things while overcoming challenges. You are solution‑oriented, adaptable, have a keen interest in further developing yourself, and know how to get things done. You thrive in a highly‑technical sales cycle and enjoy working with a diverse group of internal stakeholders. We’re looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. Minimum Requirements 5+ years of experience in a closing sales role or alternatively a background in product Track record of overachieving against ambitious sales targets Ability to understand complex technical ecosystems and build great relationships with technical customers Analytical ability to manage complex sales cycles Expertise in building territory plans to identify high‑payoff activities and initiatives in your market Experience managing projects with input from cross‑functional teams A knack for working well with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally Ability and motivation to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast‑paced environment Preferred Requirements Prior experience in payments Prior experience in a sales and/or customer‑facing role at a high‑growth technology company Prior experience in the startup ecosystem, either as founder or operator in a fast‑scaling company Interest in business models and monetization In‑office expectations Office‑assigned Stripe employees in most locations are currently expected to spend at least 50% of the time in a given month in their local office or with users. This expectation may vary depending on role, team and location. For example, Stripe employees in our Bucharest, Romania site have an 80% office expectation, and those in Stripe Delivery Center roles in Mexico City, Mexico and Bengaluru, India work 100% from the office. Some teams have greater in‑office attendance requirements to appropriately support users and workflows, which the hiring manager will discuss. This approach helps strike a balance between bringing people together for in‑person collaboration and learning from each other while supporting flexibility when possible. Pay and benefits The annual salary range for this role in the primary location is £132,000 – £198,000. This range may change if you are hired in another location. For sales roles, the range provided is the role’s On Target Earnings (“OTE”) range, meaning it includes both the sales commissions/bonuses target and annual base salary. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and specific location. Applicants not located in the primary location may request the annual salary range for their location during interview. Specific benefits and details about what compensation is included in the salary range will vary by location and can be discussed in more detail during the interview process. Benefits/complementary compensation may include equity, company bonus or sales commissions/bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends.
