Position Overview This is a position for a qualified building services electrical engineer who can carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive/repair works on the building services plant. Location: Atria Shopping Centre, Watford Salary: Competitive (depending on experience) Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 out of 7 days, weekends and call‑outs on a rota basis, currently 1 in 4. Shift Patterns (Mon – Fri) Early shift: 7.30 am – 4.30 pm Mid shift: 8.30 am – 5.30 pm Late shift: 9.30 am – 6.30 pm Weekends – (Rota basis) Saturday: 8.30 am – 6.30 pm Sunday: 10.30 am – 5.30 pm Company Benefits Pension scheme Company events Wellbeing benefits – 24‑hour turnaround GP appointment for the whole family 25 days holiday (not including bank holidays) Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance in accordance with the HVAC specification and annual maintenance programme. Ensure engineering standards are maintained to maximise the operation effectiveness and reliability of the plant and associated systems. Adhere to company QA and site procedures in all aspects. Follow company, site, health & safety procedures at all times. Maintain accurate site records/documentation in association with all site works. Inspect the condition of services and proactively deal with callouts/repairs as required, and requested by management. Attend site emergencies outside of normal working hours. Carry out tasks within typical plant room environments and at high-level, working from platforms and ladders. All access and PPE will be provided. Keep and maintain all company‑issued tools in a safe and serviceable manner. Work proactively towards the continued success and support of the contract with a positive approach. Complete any other associated task requested by management. Weekend working required, (rota basis). Job description sets out the main duties of the post at the date when it was completed. Qualifications & Skills Required Essential City & Guilds Electrical Installation/Maintenance IEE 18th Edition MEWP or IPAF certificate 3a & 3b Proven mechanical/electrical skills in all aspects of building services In‑depth knowledge of building services with the ability to fault‑find and resolve problems Sound judgement and examples of logical problem solving Previous experience of working within a team in a maintenance environment Competent working knowledge of all aspects associated with building services (e.g., fire alarm systems, BMS, mains switchgear, air‑handling units, heating & ventilation, pumps, calorifiers, CWS and HWS systems) Experience with 3‑phase Desirable C&G inspection & testing Health & safety qualification BMS controls Pump types Heating, ventilation & air conditioning Basic plumbing skills Proven experience in working a team Computer literate Air conditioning Water treatment regimes Health and safety training GCSE in maths and english or equivalent Generators Sprinkler systems Building management systems Electrically competent Basic fault diagnostics on controls, etc. We are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, colour, sex, age, national origin, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a veteran, and basis of disability.
