We're recruiting on behalf of a contractor within the facades and drylining sector who are looking for a Buyer to join their commercial team near Basildon. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with solid construction procurement experience who enjoys taking ownership of the full purchasing process and building strong supplier relationships. Key Details Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00 Salary dependant on experience level circa £30-35k 22 days holiday + bank holidays Christmas shutdown Transport needed due to company location Key Responsibilities Managing the procurement process for materials within drylining and facades across multiple projects Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to secure competitive pricing and terms Raising and managing purchase orders using Planyard software Coordinating deliveries to site, ensuring materials arrive on time and in line with programme requirements Maintaining supplier relationships and updating approved supplier lists Supporting cost saving initiatives and assisting with any delivery or quality issues Experience Required Previous experience as a Buyer within facades, drylining, or a similar construction environment Confident negotiating with suppliers and managing multiple orders simultaneously Good understanding of cost control and budgeting within construction projects Proficient in procurement or project software, with Planyard, OnScreen, or QuickBid experience an advantage Excellent communication and organisation skills, with the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines This is a great role for someone who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and wants to contribute to the success of high quality construction projects.
