**Experienced Construction Buyer**

Up to **£39,000** (depending on experience)

Are you an experienced **Construction Buyer **and looking for a new full time permanent position?

If so, we have an exciting opportunity with our client who are a successful manufacturing company based in Basildon.

Thanks to a continuing demand in business, our client is recruiting for an experienced **Construction**Buyer **to build and maintaining strong relationships with full supply chain & external main contractor teams, liaising closely with project directors, project managers, and delivery teams. Ensuring requested materials are negotiated and procured on time and onbudget.

To ensure commitment to complete every project on time and on budget, maintaining the preferred status with client base, this role will be responsible for ensuring that the vast variety of materials required for each project they work on, are carried throughwith maximum effectiveness, on budget and on programme.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the purchasing of all projects related materials
- To ensure a high level of detail is provided on purchase orders raised after quotation and agreement of cost, quality, time frame and mitigating factors against established policies and procedures
- To purchase materials through our preferred supplier list in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures as and when required
- Working with project team, to ensure delivery dates for purchase orders are tied in with programmed project dates
- The additional responsibility of negotiation in situations wherever possible, to obtain cost efficient and operational purchases
- Use construction experience to establish negotiation & relationships sufficient to obtain financial and operational benefits to the business
- Assistance in the roll out of the new purchase order software
- Liaising directly with stores team to pick materials by project as and when required
- **Must **have previous experience in **Construction Buying**:

- Previous experience desirable of using ERP systems for raising orders/supplier admin
- Confident user of MS Office suite particularly Excel
- Strong and effective communicator
- Highly organised with strong relationship building skills
- Comfortable working in a demanding and fast paced environment

**Salary**:
The salary awarded for this opportunity is up to **£39,000 plus benefits**

**25 days holiday **, plus bank holidays

**08:00 - 17:30 **, Monday to Friday
