Technical Author - Inorganic chemicals - UK BAT Do you want to make a lasting positive change to the environment? As a Technical Author in the UK BAT team you can. Responsibilities Draft BAT Conclusions and prepare a final document suitable for publication as a new, UK‑wide environmental standard for industry. Liaise with Technical Working Groups and present the BAT Conclusions to stakeholders. Work with industry partners to ensure the BAT concept principles are applied consistently across the large volume inorganic chemicals (LVIC) sector. Manage project timelines and deliverables to meet UK‑wide BAT objectives. Qualifications Specialist knowledge and understanding of the LVIC industry. Good understanding of process engineering and environmental issues. Good understanding of environmental legislation and policy in the UK. Capability of critically analysing technical arguments and data. Ability to write and communicate technical documents clearly. Strong project‑management skills and a drive to complete assignments on time. Experience / Skills Required At least 5 years of working experience in the environment regulation of the LVIC industry. Solid understanding of UK and EU industrial environmental legislation, especially the IED and the Environmental Permitting Regulations. Expertise in collecting and technically analysing complex industrial data. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong relationship‑building and networking abilities. Ability to prioritise and organise tasks and resources to achieve timely results. Adaptability in responding to challenges and building consensus. Capacity to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds and to promote equality and inclusion.
