Production Systems Developer PlacementBased: High WycombeType: Full-time, 12-month placementSalary: £25100 paRole DescriptionWe’re looking for a placement student to support our Production Systems Development (PSD) Team in developing bespoke test systems to our overseas factories for the mass production of state-of-the-art audio interfaces, MIDI controllers and synthesisers.You will be working in a people-focused, multi-functional design & engineering team, collaborating on new product development and the continuous improvement of our production processes, systems and tools.If you want to join an Agile team, involved in the development of industry leading sound recording and music production equipment in an exciting company which is committed to grow and evolve, we would love to hear from you.What you will doDevelop factory tests for new products entering production using our ‘in house’ production system tools & architectureGet involved with new product introduction from design all the way to mass productionSupport the execution of our strategy for PCBA and Final Assembly for new productsImplement automated functional test procedures and systemsContribute to research and development of new areas for functional testing (eg robotics) and quality inspection (e.g. machine vision)Provide remote technical support to factory engineers overseasIn order to be successful in this role you will needCompetent coding skills in Python (ideally Asyncio, Django, Pandas, Crossbar.io)A good understanding of audio electronics and measurement tools and methodsA commitment to continual improvement, both personal and of the wider teamExcellent design, debugging and problem-solving abilitiesThe ability to communicate clearly with a cross functional teamIt would be advantageous if you have some of the followingEnrolled in or completed a BEng/BSc degree, preferably in a related engineering subject – Electronics, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Systems, etcBackground in audio electronics and music technologyExperience with web technology: C++, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ReactHands-on prototyping using Arduino, Teensy, Raspberry Pi or other platformsFamiliarity with best practices and dev-ops tools: git, Ansible, LinuxExperience with manufacturing automation, Industry 4.0, etc.About the Focusrite GroupDoing a 12-month placement at the Focusrite Group is like becoming one of the family.
