**Overview**

2fawcett are recruiting for a Senior Buyer to join a manufacturing business in Burton on Trent. As the Senior Buyer you will be responsible for improving and driving new supplier strategies, negotiating best terms, initiating supplier development and partnership optimisation with all suppliers.

**Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer**
- Actively increase the width of the key supply base to remove capacity constraints
- Delivering KPI’s on new suppliers and savings
- Manage the project of product and supply simplification
- Deliver the required new product margin through negotiation or resourcing
- Interacting with suppliers and getting involved with their range and understanding their limits and capabilities
- Managing product development & information flow progress between product development and purchasing departments
- Leading production of new product ideas with designers and developers and working closely with the research team on new product concepts
- Managing deadlines of sample arrivals for testing, photography and catalogue production
- Running weekly performance reports on new product development progress and projects
- Competitor and market product analysis

**Requirements of the Senior Buyer**
- 3 years Purchasing experience within a fast-moving environment
- Knowledge / experience of operational processes
- CIPS Qualification - Desirable
- Excellent problem solving and data-analysis ability
