**Overview**
2fawcett have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Buyer to join a leading manufacturing business in Stoke on Trent. As the Senior Buyer, you will manage effective co-ordination of the plan to deliver customer requirements in the most cost-efficient manner.

**Role & Responsibilities of the Senior Buyer**:

- Manage Raw Material & Finished Goods storage facilities
- Ensure daily rolling stock procedures are completed.
- Maintain correct status of production returns
- Reconcile daily stocks and ensure correct allocations.
- Optimisation of process planning in conjunction with the production planner
- Visibility of stock control
- Liaison with the internal/external suppliers on lead times, complaints/claims, deliveries, and call offs
- Liaison with the logistics functions to ensure all stock movements have been fully understood / managed
- Effective communication of forward planning
- Control of material inventory to ensure minimum raw material stock value is always maintained
- Implementation of best procurement practices
- Maintain approved supplier listing in conjunction with the technical function
- Maintenance of supply chain for key materials to optimise stock holding
- Control of consumable stock
- Administration duties
- Master scheduling and forecasting for production, Working Capital and sales optimisation
- Prepare & format customer supplied information or historical data in to demand profiles suitable for forward raw material loading

**Requirements of the Senior Buyer**:

- Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Meet and negotiate with key suppliers
- Strong knowledge of demand planning and forecasting
- Able to maintain optimum stock levels without disrupting production
- An innovative and proactive approach to identifying new suppliers and products
- Strong Excel and IT skills to ensure systems are effectively maintained
- Proven leadership and results driven
- Self motivated and adapt to change
