This is a permanent, part-time role working 30 hours per week, working alternate weekends with a day off in the week (Uplifts paid for weekend working). **General Overview**:
The Team Leader will be responsible to the Facilities Management for the cleanliness of the hospital and the supervision of ward housekeepers and patient service assistants. Be able to discuss and liaise with Trust management and our customers in a proactive manner daily to ensure the contract specification is met in relation to soft services. To organise all daily tasks and work as a team with your fellow Team Leaders.
**What will you deliver?**:
- Responsibility and supervision of housekeepers and patient services assistants daily. Ensuring full cover is provided regarding duty rosters and allocation of work to ensure effective completion of duties in line with the performance standards
- Supervision and control of standards of service delivered to the Trust at ward/departmental level which will include the delivery of the patient food and beverage service
- Interface and link between ward/departmental managers and services teams in relation to reactive maintenance requests. Ensure that the staff in soft services are proactive in identifying and reporting maintenance defects etc. as part of their daily duties
- Build up an effective working relationship with clinical ward staff/departmental managers to ensure there is trust and understanding of local issues and pressures to have the ability to respond appropriately
- There will be times when it is necessary to take responsibility for the whole site service especially out of hours
- Monitor and audit specific performance standards on a regular basis and include clinical manager as appropriate
- Supervision of staff, including recruitment, interviewing, induction, training, control of absence, timekeeping, appraisal, performance, standards of behaviour and dress
- Management of supplies, chemicals and consumables relating to the delivery of Soft FM services. Stock control and issuing in line with procedures. Full compliance with COSHH and other associated health and safety standards
- Management of electrical equipment used in the service, including overview of serviceability and maintenance, PAT testing and other health and safety considerations
- Detailed knowledge of machinery used in the department to enable operator training to be provided regarding the correct usage, storage and cleanliness of it
- Promote a culture of safe working methods in line with department working instructions, and as directed with health and safety legislation to ensure full compliance.

**Who are we looking for?**:
- Experience of performance management of employees including appraisals
- Experience of working within Hotel & Catering industry and/or Facilities Management sector (Desirable)
- Experience in a supervisory capacity
- Computer literate, ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Sound written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (Essential)
- Basic Health and Safety Certificate
- Able to participate in an on-call rota if required
- Able to work a roster covering seven days per week
