**Group HR Director**
A brand-new role for an exceptional HR leader to join Gear4music plc, one of Europe’s leading Musical Instrument and Equipment e-commerce retailers with over 500 employees across five countries, and revenues of £150m. This is a unique opportunity for an experiencedHR Director to shape and define our longer-term HR strategy, helping us to develop and refine our culture and identity as we implement our ambitious growth plans.
**Group HR Director Responsibilities**:
Defining and developing our employee engagement and communication strategies with energy and empathy, you will be a music enthusiast with a creative background and passion for all things musical - whether you are someone who plays an instrument or enjoys listeningto and immersing yourself in music as part of your personal hobbies & interests. It’s important you can relate to our products, customers and what makes Gear4music unique, ensuring our internal and external communication strategies are aligned.
This is an exciting time to join the Gear4music Group as we deliver our business growth plans. We are looking for an outstanding individual who can support our existing HR team and help take our business to the next level.
**Desired Skills & Experience**:

- Board level experience within a medium to large business
- Experience of working with a Retail organisation, ideally E-commerce
- Experience of working across a Group portfolio, within the UK and EU
- Ability to define and drive the HR strategy across multi-jurisdictions to support long-term growth
- M&A experience including post-transaction integration
- Strong business acumen and confident managing budgets
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivated and driven to achieve results
- Ability to transform long-term visions into short action plans
- Experience across a broad range of HR disciplines, platforms, projects and industries at senior board level
- Ability to develop and improve internal communications across the Group

Launched in 2003 and now with more than 4 million customers, Gear4music is the UK's largest retailer of musical instruments and music equipment. We operate across all categories and offer solutions for everyone: from rock to classical, from studio to stage.
**Location**: Based in York with flexibility to attend other sites as and when required.
**Contract Type**: Permanent
**Working hours**: 39.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.
**Salary**: Competitive
