In order to achieve this vision, the Transport Department are looking for an experienced transport professional to join the Transport Strategy & Sustainability service and support a team of specialists.

As part of the team you will work closely with colleagues in Public Realm, the Economy and other services across the council.

As the knowledge and innovation hub for Public Realm you will explore opportunities for pilot schemes and lead the way to achieve the Councils priorities while ensuring good governance, quality assurance and delivery. The team will also work to align priorities and build long term relationships with strategic partners and key stakeholders to ensure the Councils ambitions and aspirations are realised.

The role is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the transport, public realm and climate change agendas. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future priorities for place and infrastructure through policy making, scheme conception, sponsoring major scheme delivery within a multidisciplinary and challenging context.

**Role Responsibilities**:
**The role responsibilities are**:

- To undertake work within the responsibilities of the Planning Division, Strategy and Development Management, and at such a level, as is commensurate with the postholder's position and under the supervision of the Principal.
- To lead and advise on engagement and consultation on schemes or policies.
- To commission and carry out traffic, transport, kerbside and air quality studies including the collection, collation, analysis and reporting of data and findings.
- To attend Departmental, inter-departmental and inter-authority meetings, working parties etc., as Departmental or Council representative.
- To exercise financial control of expenditure in respect of schemes and projects for which the post holder is responsible.
