Location: City of London - Hybrid Working (2 days in office, 3 days from home) Salary: £55,000 - £62,000 + Benefits The purpose of this role is to manage enquiries for clients and provide specialist advice on how all aspects of tax enquiries, from start to finish. You will advise and represent clients on their options if there is a disputed tax liability and how to utilise statutory reviews, ADR or appeal to the first-tier tax tribunal. Key Responsibilities:Advise on whether HMRC have opened a valid enquiryAdvise on how to best respond to HMRCWhat information should be made available and what HMRC are entitled to ask forProvide strategic advice on how to communicate complex issues to HMRCAmend tax computations and compute tax liabilities with failure to notify casesAdvise on penalty mitigation and calculations of penalties dueOverpayment of tax and how to claim reliefContentious tax disputes xwwtmva The Ideal Candidate: CTA qualified or relevant HMRC experienceExperience of tax dispute mattersCode of Practice 9 enquiriesCode of Practice 8 enquiriesVoluntary disclosuresAlternative Dispute Resolution (ADR)Overpayment ReliefDiscovery Assessments
