Your new role This is a Finance Business Partner role with a strong emphasis on the preparation of monthly management accounts and core financial control. While offering broader business-facing exposure, the position requires hands-on involvement in the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting.Full responsibility for preparation of monthly management accounts, including P&L and balance sheet ownershipPreparing and submitting VAT returns in line with HMRC deadlinesPosting and reconciling payroll journals, accruals, prepayments, and deferred iePreparation of ad hoc financial analysis and quarterly external reportingSupporting the Head of Finance with budgeting, forecasting and internal MI reportingSupporting year-end processes and preparing audit evidence for external auditorsCollaborating closely with operational teams to improve internal reporting and enhance the flow of information between departments within the divisionTaking a proactive role in reviewing and improving financial systems, controls, and proceduresExposure to wider group finance function with the opportunity to support group-level initiatives and reporting requirementsWhat you'll need to succeed Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA or similar); part-qualified candidates will also be consideredStrong experience preparing full management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns, and audit supportBackground in either industry or practice consideredProficient Microsoft Excel - broad knowledge of Excel and the ability to tackleplex tasks and provide analysis from large data setsStrongmunicator with experience liaising with clients, stakeholders, and auditorsAble to work independently and manage multiple responsibilities in deadline-driven environmentsSelf-driven, solution-focused, and proactive — able to take ownership of tasks, ask the right questions, work through problems independently, and deliver clear, considered solutions without requiring ongoing direction.Confident working across multiple accounting systems (including Sage and bespoke platforms)Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proactive in improving processes and reportingWhat you'll get in return Central locationHybrid working
