We are working with a Gloucestershire County Council who are looking for a Procurement Officer to join their team to support and lead tender activity across the Council. You’ll provide expert advice, manage discrete procurement projects, and work closely with commissioners, project leads and suppliers to deliver strong commercial outcomes and maximise social value. Location: GloucestershireSet-up: Hybrid Rate: £300/day via umbrella inside IR35Duration: Initially 7-months Hours: Full-time positionResponsibilities include:Provide pragmatic and informed procurement advice to commissioners and clients Use specialist knowledge to support strong commercial outcomesConduct market and supplier research to inform commissioning and tender strategiesLead or support discrete procurement projects and attend project or review boardsAssess and maximise social value through procurement activityCommunicate and engage effectively with stakeholders, partners and suppliersEnsure compliance with legal, policy and Council requirementsLead or support tendering activity across service areasPrepare procurement strategies outlining findings and recommended approaches Requirements: Local Government experience required for initial shortlisting, then thereafter at the client’s discretionExperience delivering procurement or commissioning activity, managing tenders, researching markets and developing specificationStrong understanding of procurement regulations, contract law, risk management and commercial principlesProven ability to communicate clearly, build relationships, manage stakeholders and work to tight deadlines in complex environmentsStrong analytical, negotiation and project management skills with the ability to interpret data and produce clear written summaries At Venn Group, we endeavour to respond to all applications However due to the volume of applications we receive, if you have not heard from us within 48 hours please assume you have been unsuccessful on this occasion
