About the Role: The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress. All Subject specialisms will be considered. Working with Secondary aged pupils within an Alternative Provision setting who have varying levels of SEMH and challenging behaviour. Building positive relationships with pupils and Teaching Assistants to create excellent learning environments. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children. About the School: The role is based in an inspirational Alternative Provision setting in Newcastle. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range and there are opportunities to support pupils across all years groups depending on your preference and specialism Pay, Hours and Contract: Pay – Between £130-180 per day Hours – Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2026. Temporary Contract. Start Date – ASAP. Location – Newcastle Experience/Qualifications and Requirements: An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you) QTS and Teaching experience in either SEND, Primary or Secondary School settings within the UK. Strong Behaviour Management skills Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress Strong KS3-KS5 Science Subject Knowledge Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work A genuine passion for Teaching Strong organisation and communication skills
