About the role SEN Teaching Assistant Applicants from a care background are welcome to apply.YorkPart Time / Full TimeLong Term / Permanent / Temp to PermThe School and RoleVision for Education are looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a number of our client schools, supporting pupils with a mix of additional needs such as ASC, ADHD, Dyslexia, Global Development Delay, PMLD, and challenging and disruptive behaviour. Working on a full time or part time basis, offering the flexibility to work around other commitments if needed.Vision for Education currently have a number of day to day, long term and permanent roles available for immediate and March starts.We understand that everyone has unique preferences, abilities, and career aspirations, which is why our dedicated consultants work closely with you to ensure that every opportunity aligns with your specific requirements.Responsibilities – can include:Provide Support: Assist students with SEN in their educational and personal development, implementing individualized support strategies to meet their specific needs.Inclusion and Differentiation: Promote an inclusive learning environment by differentiating instruction and adapting materials to ensure all students can access the curriculum.Classroom Assistance: Support the classroom teacher by facilitating student engagement, managing behaviour, and providing one-on-one or small group assistance during lessons.Personal Care: Provide personal care and support, if required, to students with physical or medical needs, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the classroom teacher, SEN coordinators, and other professionals to create and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and contribute to the overall development of students.Progress Monitoring: Observe and assess student progress, record achievements, and provide feedback to teachers and parents or guardians.Building Relationships: Establish positive relationships with students, promoting their self-esteem, confidence, and independence, while also maintaining effective communication with parents or guardians.RequirementsRelevant Experience: Previous experience working with students with SEN is preferred, whether in a school, childcare, or other educational settings.
