Key Responsibilities: * Support the Head of Payroll – assisting in managing the a range of client payrolls – taking ownership and ensuring smooth and efficient operations * Provide expert advice and guidance – helping clients navigate complex payroll and compliance issues * Be able to lead, train and support payroll trainees and other support staff, fostering a collaborative and high performing team environment * Manage day to date payroll activities, including processing payrolls, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation * Engage in continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and enhancement of payroll processes and systems Ideal Candidate: * Proven previous experience in a payroll role, preferably within a chartered accountant’s firm or a similar professional services environment * Comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation, tax regulations and compliance requirements * Proficient in payroll software * Demonstrate a passion for developing other team members * Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail * Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to resolving issues.
