With positions within both the Programme and Delivery teams, these roles offer the perfect blend of site and office based work along with home-based flexibility, allowing you to balance professional growth with personal well-being. Key Responsibilities Identification, Design and Pricing: Identify, design and pricing highway maintenance schemes to help develop programmes with conflicting priorities, including drainage, patching, resurfacing, and footway works. Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders to assist in the planning and delivery of highway maintenance schemes. Community Collaboration: Work alongside other Devon County Council teams to understand community needs when planning and delivering highway maintenance schemes. Auditing: Audit highway maintenance schemes including identification and resolution of remedial works and a review of performance of designs. Budget Management: To contribute to the proper and effective financial management of the service. Policy Application: Apply a working knowledge of appropriate highway policies and procedures and stay updated on technical developments and good working practices. Team and Work Environment You’ll be part of the wider Asset Management team assisting in the ongoing management and maintenance of Devon’s highway assets. Based at either our Newton Abbot or Exeter depots, you will be working with a small, supportive team of highways colleagues.
