Shipping Assistant

Job DetailsUpdated: Thu, Dec 05, 2024 4:09 PM Our client, an industry leader in the design and manufacture of bespoke products, is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Shipping Assistant to join their team in Staplehurst, Kent. This role can be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis (at least 25 hours a week).As a Shipping Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Import/Export Manager with daily shipping activities. Your attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously will ensure the timely delivery of goods and materials to customers throughout the UK, Europe, USA, and Asia.Responsibilities:Assist with checking, scanning, and filing shipping documentationArrange carriers to ship goods and materialsGenerate necessary shipping paperwork, including commercial invoices, packing lists, and labelsEnsure on-time delivery of productsLiaise with the sales department regarding shipping quotationsProvide cover for the packing department when requiredRequirements:Educated to at least GCSE level, including English/MathsIdeally 12 months experience in a transferable administrative role (full training provided)Highly organised approach with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and complianceProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ideally MRP systems or similarStrong problem-solving skills and ability to use own initiativeAbility to work to deadlines and collaborate effectively in a teamWillingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologiesExcellent interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers and customersBenefits:Enhanced pension contributionsQuarterly staff bonus schemeCompany sick pay schemeEmployee referral schemeDeath in service cover25 days annual leave plus Bank HolidaysCycle to work schemeOn-site parkingTraining and development opportunitiesAs part of a supportive and inclusive team, you’ll enjoy a collaborative work environment that values your contributions and encourages your professional growth.
