You don’t need school experience yet. What matters most is your empathy, patience and willingness to learn.What you’ll be doing Supporting pupils with autism, ADHD and social, emotional and mental health needs Working 1:1 and in small groups to help pupils regulate emotions, stay engaged and build confidence Applying what you know from your psychology studies to understand behaviour, triggers and communication styles Helping pupils develop routines, independence and social skills Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and therapists to keep support consistent Celebrating every small step forward, because those are the ones that matter Why this is perfect for Psychology graduates You’ll gain direct experience in behaviour, cognition and emotional development You’ll see your academic knowledge in action, every single day It’s ideal preparation for future careers in educational psychology, mental health, therapy or teaching You’ll learn practical strategies used by SEN professionals and pastoral teams What the school is looking for A calm, patient graduate with a genuine interest in supporting young people Someone who enjoys building relationships and communicating clearly A reflective, curious approach and a willingness to try new strategies Experience with children or young people is helpful, not essential A team player who brings warmth and consistency to each day Why join Protocol Education?
