Psychology Graduates- SEN Teaching Assistant

We’re working with a brilliant SEN school that’s looking for a compassionate, thoughtful and energetic graduate to join them as an SEN Teaching Assistant. You’ll be supporting pupils with additional needs, helping them feel understood, valued and ready to learn each day. It’s a perfect step if you’re considering a career in educational psychology, teaching, counselling or mental health. What you’ll be doing Supporting pupils 1:1 and in small groups with learning, behaviour and communication Using what you know from your psychology studies to read situations, understand triggers and build trust Helping pupils regulate emotions and stay engaged in lessons Working closely with teachers and therapists to keep strategies consistent Celebrating progress, no matter how small, and helping students feel safe and confident What the school is looking for A Psychology graduate with an interest in child development, behaviour or SEN Someone patient, warm and naturally curious about how pupils learn A good communicator who can stay calm in tricky moments Experience with children or young people is helpful but not essential A team player who’s ready to learn on the job Why this role is great for Psychology grads Hands‑on experience with SEN, behaviour and emotional regulation A chance to work alongside teachers, SENCOs and external specialists Brilliant experience if you’re considering further study in psychology or education Real insight into how therapeutic strategies look in a school setting Why join Protocol Education?
