The Job Role Details:You will take a lead role in planning and managing the farm's cropping programmes, overseeing day-to-day operations, and driving technical development across root crop and vegetable production.Key Responsibilities:Plan and manage arable and potato cropping from establishment to harvestDrive technical development, particularly within root crop and vegetable productionDevelop and manage crop rotations, nutrition, irrigation, and cultivation programmesMonitor plant health, pests, and disease, implementing preventative strategiesLead, supervise, and train permanent and seasonal team membersPlan workloads and maintain a safe, positive working cultureOversee machinery and equipment maintenance and performanceAssist with budgeting, cost control, and purchasingProvide timely crop reports, yield assessments, and operational KPIsEnsure H&S compliance, risk assessments, and accurate recordsPromote sustainable practices including soil health and water stewardshipIdeal Candidate Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience managing commercial arable and/or root crop productionStrong leadership skills with an organised and proactive approachExperienced with modern machinery and precision farming technologiesCommercially aware with sound decision-making skillsStrong communicator, able to build trust and foster teamworkRelevant agricultural qualifications preferred (not essential)Passion for sustainable farming and new crop developmentWorking Hours:Full-time.
