Support Engineer

Ourclient is a long-standing respected electronics design & manufacturing organisation which are currentlylooking for a Support engineer with a strong electro mechanical background.Reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for both on and off-site testing, repair and possible modification of electrical and electronic equipment whilst meeting the customers quality standards and the objectives of the business.Duties: ·Support of the production department for repairs, modifications, and other activities. ·Where necessary conduct site visits to customer premises. ·Carry out product testing and fault-finding activities to either board or component level. ·Record faults and provide comprehensive written reports where necessary. ·Recording of and updating customer returns information using inhouse computer tools and databases ·Correctly utilise, maintain, and repair company and customer test equipment. ·Assist in the creation and amendment of test specifications as required. ·Work with the Engineering Dept to implement new products. ·Ensure all relevant documentation and drawings are kept up to date. Skills and Experience. ·MoD security vetted or be able to obtain clearance if necessary. ·Relevant experience as a support engineer in a similar role. ·Experience of testing electronic assemblies and components. ·Ability to produce work instructions and process notes. ·Good IT skills, Word, Excel, Power Point. ·Ability to work in a team as well as on your own. ·Proven fault-finding ability. ·Must be willing to travel and be away from home overnight. ·A Military background would be an advantage
