As Clinical Manager you will lead on the operational management of the respite provision in accordance with regulatory CQC standards and manage the Nursing Team ensuring positive relationships are developed and maintained with each other. You will ensure compliance and develop all relevant clinical, governance and regulatory systems and policies and work closely with local health and care service providers. You will provide an environment of continuous quality improvement and attend relevant training and cascade as appropriate Key Responsibilities Be involved at county level in the development of respite care across all domains and revise and develop policies, procedures, and guidelines pertinent to the safe provision of all clinical services .You will develop own comprehensive knowledge of the Care Quality Commission legislation as required and work in partnership with the Registered Manager on the development of clinical services fostering a collaborative and positive work environment. You will monitor the Key Performance Indicators monthly and action any points as necessary. You will have overall responsibility for the daytime and overnight respite allocations for children and families which can include managing specific requests and deliver a family centred service and maintain high standards of the facilities within the areas relevant to the nursing department. Yu will ensure there are always appropriate levels of staff with the correct skill mix for every respite session and manage the referral process so families and children referred receive an outstanding and equitable service within the respite policy. You will oversee and have overall responsibility of the management of the nursing team to ensure they are continuously implementing and applying high standards of individualised care and act as an infection prevention and control champion by promoting good practice and providing advice and support to colleagues within the workplace. Devise, embed and monitor the use of local policies, guidelines and procedures regarding infection control. You will provide advice and make sure risk assessments are appropriately undertaken to ensure safety of children, staff and visitors at Kites Corner and when out in the community. You will ensure that clinical staff teams are aware of and observe safety rules, fire procedures and drills, internal security and incident procedures. You will be involved in the recruitment and selection, training, and development of staff and participate, where required, in local and national initiatives and developments in the hospice care field and nurture a positive and supportive culture and environment where people feel motivated and supported to achieve the strategic aims. Ensure compliments, concerns and complaints are managed in line with the organisation’s policy including making the most of opportunities to share learning. Provide guidance and assistance to actively support the use of hospice care initiatives by raising awareness among clinical staff about the needs of children, their families and carers and attend internal and external clinical meetings and conferences, where necessary to support the Registered Manager.
