We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK help them recruit a Consultant in Radiology with an interest in Oncology on either a Substantive or a 12 month NHS Fixed Term basis.Our client are one of the largest providers of healthcare in the area and has a complement of over 930 beds for a local population of 390,000 and a regional population of 1.5 million. The Trust forms one of the major acute Trusts in the North West with all of the usual specialties on site as well as being a Tertiary Centre for Lancashire and South Cumbria in the departments of Neurosciences, Oncology, Renal Medicine, major trauma, plastics and burns, specialist mobility and rehabilitation and vascular services.Our client is looking to develop the large diagnostic and interventional imaging unit as it expands to provide services as part of a tertiary referral and major trauma centre development, to support general radiology with interest in oncology imaging.The appointee will be asked to fulfil various duties, these may include: provide cross sectional imaging reporting and support for various MDT's, Management of the department to maintain efficient and timely patient flow with specific reference to both local and national targets, Close liaison with nursing, medical and radiographic staff to ensure patient care is maintained and all trust policies and procedures are adhered to, take part in the management of the service and attend meetings of the Diagnostic Imaging Directorate, the Medical Staffing Committee and such other committees, assist in the smooth running of the Directorate and with colleagues in the provision of an effective and efficient service, Support, teaching and experience will be provided for career development as appropriate & to take an active role in the teaching of junior doctors and be involved in the training of all staff, and to take an active role in teaching and auditThe appointee will truly be joining an amazing opportunity based in NW England at one of the biggest trusts in the UK with close proximity to two international airports, along with outstanding private and public schools Additional Information - Excellent leadership within the team - 10 PA's per week (Can be increased if necessary) - Must have GMC Registration - Outstanding nearby schools - Excellent location in one of the biggest cities in EuropeThis is a Consultant in Radiology with an interest in Oncology vacancy.
