Technical Author Pay, Hours and Benefits £36,000 - £38,000 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm (with some flexibility) 23 days holiday plus bank holidays Life insurance cover Employee Assistance Programme This role is commutable from the following areas: Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Mansfield, Chesterfield. Technical Author Role Overview You will join the company’s busy Technical Support team in Derbyshire, with a focus on creating and maintaining high quality SOP’s (standard operating procedures, installation/user manuals and the creation of drawings/models for product fabrications. Technical Author Candidate Requirements Proven experience as a Technical Author, with Illustrations / Illustrator expertise. Proficient in CAD, Solidworks and Adobe packages including Illustrator. Good understanding of basic engineering principles. A well-organised professional. Proactive, self-motivated and solutions focused. A clear and confident communicator and strong team player. High levels of accuracy and attention to detail. A logical, process-driven mindset. Technical Author Key Responsibilities Ensuring the generation of technical materials that are required to facilitate the delivery of product to market in a timely manner. Working with the design team to create 3D models and SOPS for new dedicated illustration kits for all group products. Creating work instructions and Standard Production Order (SPO) to assist the production line and production manager. Creating or revising user and installation manuals for any new or existing products brought to market by any of the group’s brands. Managing and implement change through processes and communicate with other departments to deal with enquiries both efficiently and effectively. Creating an illustrated parts catalogue (IPC) to assist every department determine product parts and codes. Please Note: Candidates must have the right to live and work in the UK.
