Aspiring Clinical Psychologist – Learning Support Assistant Aspiring Clinical Psychologist – Learning Support Assistant Location: Newham Start Date: ASAP Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only Milk Education is working in partnership with a specialist school in the Newham area to recruit an Aspiring Clinical Psychologist to join their team as a Learning Support Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about understanding neurodiversity, child development, and mental health, and who want meaningful hands-on experience before progressing into Clinical or Educational Psychology careers. Key Responsibilities Provide personalised support to pupils with Autism, SEMH needs, learning difficulties, and PDA profiles. Support children across the autism spectrum, including non-verbal pupils, sensory learners, and academically able students who mask their needs. Use trauma-informed and relational approaches to help pupils feel safe, regulated, and understood. Assist in implementing IEPs and positive behaviour support plans. Promote emotional regulation, independence, communication, and social interaction. Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and external agencies. Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding insights back to teaching staff and parents. Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environment. Ideal Candidate Degree in Psychology or a related field preferred but not essential. Experience supporting children or young people with SEND through work or volunteering is beneficial. Genuine passion for supporting neurodivergent pupils. Empathetic, patient, and confident building positive relationships. Strong communication, reflective practice, and problem-solving skills.
