Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant

Location: Lincoln

Salary: £83.33 - £90.00 per day

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Type: Full-time

Are you passionate about helping students with special educational needs reach their full potential?

GSL Education are seeking a committed and compassionate Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant in Lincoln to support students in their learning journey. This is a rewarding opportunity to work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other specialists in providing targeted support to students who face learning challenges. As an SEN TA, you will play a pivotal role in nurturing their confidence, developing their skills, and fostering a positive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant Responsibilities

  • Assist in the implementation of tailored learning plans for students with SEN.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support during classroom activities.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive atmosphere to promote student engagement.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and report on student progress.
  • Apply behaviour management strategies to meet individual student needs.
  • Support the overall well-being and personal development of the students.
  • Help maintain a positive classroom environment, encouraging active participation.

Qualifications And Skills

  • CACHE Level 2 or 3 or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Teaching Assistance or Childcare is advantageous.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SEN conditions such as autism, ADHD, or specific learning difficulties etc.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with additional needs.
