Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Support for SEMH and Emotional Needs
An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Haringey, North London, is seeking a dynamic and confident Teaching Assistant to join their Year 6 class. This role focuses on supporting children with high emotional needs and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) challenges, helping them navigate their final year in primary school with confidence and success.

Teaching Assistant Responsibilities:
Offer 1:1 and group support to pupils with SEMH and emotional needs, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere.
Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored strategies that promote emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
Engage proactively with pupils, encouraging participation and helping them overcome barriers to learning.
Use your initiative to adapt and respond effectively to the needs of the class.
Build strong relationships with pupils, acting as a positive role model and a source of encouragement.
The Ideal Teaching Assistant:
Previous teaching assistant experience supporting children with SEMH or emotional needs is highly desirable.
A confident, assertive, and nurturing teaching assistant who can handle challenges with patience and determination.
Ability to quickly adapt to a classroom environment and take a hands-on approach.
Must have an Enhanced DBS or be willing to process one through Reeson Education.
