Teaching Assistant - Year 6 Support Role in a Primary School
A welcoming primary school is seeking a skilled Teaching Assistant to join their Year 6 team. This role involves supporting pupils with a mix of needs, including Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH), Autism, and behaviour challenges. Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
Provide one-to-one and small-group support for Year 6 pupils with SEMH and Autism.
Assist in managing behaviour positively and creating an inclusive learning environment.
Work closely with the class teacher to implement tailored strategies for students with additional needs.
Be proactive and take initiative in identifying and meeting the needs of individual pupils.
Support the class as a whole when required, ensuring a smooth and productive learning experience.
Ideal Candidate for the Teaching Assistant Role:
Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting, particularly with SEMH, Autism, and behaviour challenges.
Confident, resilient, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A nurturing approach, combined with strong behaviour management skills and the ability to engage pupils effectively.
Able to step in and provide immediate, meaningful support to pupils and staff.
Holds an Enhanced DBS or is willing to process one through Reeson Education.
