Job summary Vacancy for a Receptionist Band 2, hours per week, am to pm Base: Dudley Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service The Elms Health Centre An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and experienced Receptionist.
We are looking for a friendly, professional and caring receptionist/administrator.
As part of this very busy team you will provide an efficient, effective, professional and confidential reception/admin service to our large team of clinicians, our patients and other professionals.
The role will encompass dealing with patients and their families, clinical and non-clinical staff by telephone and face to face; subsequently you will require excellent communication skills.
Main duties of the job Brief duties will include: -First point of call for our patients and their families -To ensure patient enquiries are handled courteously, efficiently and empathetic.
-General administrative duties such as emailing, filing, posting of letters, ordering of stationery -Ensuring reception area is neat and tidy You will work closely with other administrative staff to ensure continuity of administration support and mutual assistance within the Service.
It will be expected that the post holder will be able to think on their feet, provide flexible cover for service opening hours.
The work will be demanding and varied and you will be required to have excellent demonstrable administrative skills, be confident and assertive and be able to work autonomously using your own initiative.

The service currently operates across 4 geographical areas (Sandwell, Wolverhampton, Dudley and Walsall).
Job description Job responsibilities You should possess: Previous experience of reception/administration in the health sector Good IT skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of staff The ability to deal sensitively and effectively with distressed service users and carers over the telephone and face to face The ability to work in a fast paced and pressurised environment and be able to be adaptive and flexible in response to additional workload The ability to work to tight deadlines whilst ensuring work is of a high standard Person Specification Education and Qualifications Essential oGood standard of education, GCSE or equivalent standard oRSA Level 2 keyboard skills or equivalent keyboard/IT qualification or experience Desirable oNVQ Business Admin Level 2 Knowledge and Experience Essential oPrevious experience of reception/administration in the health sector oExperience of working with the general public oExperience of Microsoft packages
