Job Opportunity: Shipping Coordinator Location: Stanley Industry: Chemicals Manufacturing Salary: Competitive We are recruiting for a Shipping Coordinator on behalf of a leading chemicals manufacturer in Stanley.
This is a pivotal role focused on managing and optimising the company's import and export operations across key global markets, ensuring cost-effective, efficient, and compliant logistics practices.
Key Responsibilities Import and Export Operations * Oversee the complete import/export process, ensuring full compliance with international trade regulations and company standards.
* Manage imports from Taiwan, China, and Europe, maintaining strong supplier relationships and negotiating cost-effective shipping solutions.
* Coordinate exports to the EU, North America, and South America, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction.
* Optimise shipping schedules, freight costs, and delivery timelines to prevent delays and reduce costs.
* Prepare and verify all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, commercial invoices, and certificates of origin.
Customs and Compliance * Ensure adherence to UK and international trade laws, including Incoterms, tariffs, and customs declarations.
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes, implementing adjustments as needed.
* Work with customs brokers and freight forwarders to address clearance issues swiftly and effectively.
Qualifications and Skills * Experience: Proven experience in import/export operations, ideally within a manufacturing or distribution environment.
* Knowledge: Strong understanding of international trade regulations, Incoterms, and customs procedures.
* Personal Attributes: Excellent communication, organisational, and negotiation skills, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
