Job summary To be personally responsible and professionally accountable for a service user caseload within the community, focusing on service users with or suspected of having a First Episode Psychosis (FEP).
To provide high quality care and treatment in conjunction with other professionals through the Trust's agreed multi-disciplinary assessment and treatment care programmes.To participate as an active member of the multi-disciplinary Early Intervention Service team in developing high quality and innovative services to service users with First Episode Psychosis.
Main duties of the job Responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care for a defined caseload of patients, age 14-65 years with regular supervision and guidance from a designated supervisor.Promoting and participating in the multi-disciplinary assessment and development of treatment/care programmes and reviews.Acting as a Care Co-ordinator and fully implementing and adhering to the Trust policies on Integrated CPA and Risk Assessment.To deliver in the provision of specialist interventions Family Interventions or Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Psychosis CBTp (according to skills)To work in a socially inclusive way and in line with the recovery model.To promote the needs of carers, complete carer's assessments and care plans and support local Carer/User Groups.Promoting the Trust's philosophy of treatment/care.Administration of medication, ensuring compliance with nursing responsibilities under the Medicines Act (1971), the local care of Drugs policy and other relevant Trust clinical procedures (according to clinical registration).To participate in the Team Duty Worker rota and adhere to the Trust requirements for this role.To participate in the Initial Assessment rota.Ensuring compliance with approved Trust clinical nursing policies/procedures and the Trust's supervision policy.Ensuring compliance with the Mental Health Act (1983) and Mental Capacity Act regulations/procedures and Code of Practice.

If you would like or know of anyone who would value this support, please do Person Specification EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING Essential Registered Mental Health Nurse/ OT/Social Worker, Valid Registration with the appropriate professional body NMC/SWE/HCPC Experience Essential Relevant experience working with clients with psychosis in Adult and or CAMHs services Desirable Knowledge of current primary care issues SKILLS, ABILITIES &KNOWLEDGE Essential Able to assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care.
The ability to: prioritise & meet deadlines; organise work of self and others; supervising, teaching & assessing; self motivated with the ability to motivate others; effective resource management.
Skills in managing complex cases.
Understanding of current policy and guidance relating to Early Intervention in Psychosis services.
PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES Essential Able to communicate effectively at different levels of the organisation and with staff, patient/service users, visitors or external organisations both verbally and in writing in the exchange of highly complex, sensitive or contentious information which may require the use of negotiating and/or persuasive skills.
Able to analyse and assess situations and to interpret potentially conflicting situations and determine appropriate action, where there is a range of options and judgement is required Able to overcome barriers to understanding where there are physical or mental disabilities.
