Diagnostic Radiographer Degree Apprentice

Role Summary To work as part of the radiography team as a trainee diagnostic radiographer to perform a range of radiographic imaging procedures, as detailed within the apprenticeship programme, within the diagnostic imaging department under the supervision of a qualified radiographer.
To undertake their duties and contribute to the holistic care of patients as part of a multi-Disciplinary team and be responsible for delivering effective, specialised, high quality care and carrying out specific clinical tasks, ensuring the area of work runs smoothly and efficiently.
To commit to study both within working hours and at home during the duration of the apprenticeship course.
As well as attend mandatory block weeks for the diagnostic radiographer apprenticeship programme at the University of Exeter and attend virtual tutorials and webinars, and clinical assessments to be able to complete the remote educational learning requirements.
To work within the boundaries of existing competence and under supervision at all times, adhering to the Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposures) Regulations 7 at all times as well as local procedures and protocols relating to radiation procedures, staff and patient safety.

More detail about the role We are looking for an enthusiastic person to join the Radiology Team as a Diagnostic Radiographer Apprentice.
The training will involve a 3 year programme with the University of Exeter whilst completing all practical aspects with us at NDDH as our employee; on completion you will hold a BSc (Hons) degree in Diagnostic Radiography and Imaging.
The post holder will need to have knowledge of working within the healthcare environment, they will demonstrate organisation, initiative and flexible-thinking, an ability to learn and work in a team, and enjoy a challenge.
You must also be able to work a typical roster pattern including out of hours shifts and weekends.
The post holder must be willing and able to undertake the necessary training required to complete the course.
You will be required to have: A-level science grade B GCSE English and Maths grade C or 4.
IT skills Level 3 qualification (eg NVQ 3, QCF 3) Be able to work as part of a team Be compliant with all mandatory training requirements Be able to commit to fully attending the academic blocks (3 blocks of 3-5 days per annum) and modules required Working Pattern: In the first year working patterns will be mainly 9-5 shifts with the occasional weekend day or some extended days to ensure learning opportunities within the department, over the next two years this will extend to other shifts including some night shifts in the third year.
