Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Paediatric Neurodevelopment Specialist Nurse to cover a 10 month maternity leave post.
This is a new role to North Devon and will be instrumental in setting up and developing the ADHD/Neurodevelopment service.
Ideally, we are looking for a candidate who is a qualified non-medical prescriber with experience of service development and working with children and young people with ADHD.

More detail about the role The Neurodevelopment Specialist Nurse will manage and organise a defined caseload if children and young people who have ADHD with a wide range of complex psychological, emotional and behavioural difficulties within community and out-patient settings.
The Specialist Nurse will offer support and input to the child and family for any required Hospital admissions and support the inpatient Nursing team with specialist advice.
This will include promoting and contributing to an effective Multi-disciplinary service for this group, in a way that is flexible and responsive to changing needs and demands of the families and overall service.
This will involve working closely with all relevant services such as CAMHS, Social work and Education.
The Specialist Nurse will contribute to and undertake assessment and evidence-based intervention with this population, their families and carers.
They will provide and contribute experience and understanding of the knowledge and skills required to undertake the role of the Neurodevelopment Specialist Nurse within the wider team.
The post holder will apply high level critical thinking, decision making and diagnostic reasoning skills alongside other members of the Multi-disciplinary team, to formulate a diagnosis of ADHD and/or consider differential diagnoses on a case by case basis.
