This role reports directly into the Chief Inspector.
The purpose of the role is to inspect and verify first-off, in process and final product to internal and external customer requirements.
Duties will include: Ensuring Inspection Operations are completed in an efficient and timely manner.
Visual and dimensional inspection against drawings and creating reports.
Assisting in the development of documentation for instructional, descriptive, reference and/or informational purposes.
Have an active role in controlling the calibration of equipment used by MacTaggart Scott inspection and production as per Company procedure.
Conduct 'in process' inspection and surveillance of products from Goods Inwards and through the manufacturing process, ensuring that process and product checks/inspections are undertaken.
Liaise with production, engineering, project management for non-conformances and preventative action moving forward.
Liaise with customers for source inspection and hardware being delivered on time.
Taking a pro-active role in the development of the 'right first time' approach and 'operator responsibility' throughout manufacturing.
As part our plan to develop our inspection department we hope to offer the right individual a training plan to develop in Non-Destructive testing (NDT) and ICORR (paint) training.
We also hope to grow the department to support a 4 on/4 off shift pattern.
Closing Date: 09/12/24 Requirements Essential skills, experience and knowledge requirements: The successful candidate must; Be a time-served Inspector or a time-served Machinist with an interest in inspection (Full inspection training will be given).
The Quality Control Inspector needs to be proficient in handling the tools of the trade as it applies to the work at hand.
Since a Quality Control Inspector is industry-specific, they possess one to three years of experience for a junior role.
For a senior role, they need five to seven years.
Have excellent communication skills and confidence in dealing with internal customers and departments.
Have a methodical and organised work ethic.
Have the ability to work both on their own and as part of a team.
Must be proficient in MS Office.
