Job summary The North clinical business unit is delighted to be recruiting into a Clinical Nurse Specialist post to join the Northumberland and North Tyneside Psychiatric Liaison Service based at NSECH and Wansbeck Hospital.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic clinician with suitable leadership and experience, who is motivated to join the collective leadership team in this innovative post.
The successful candidate will work directly into the service providing clinical leadership, supervision and training to members of the team and will work with the service collective leadership team and CBU collective leadership team leading driving forward trust, locality and CBU objectives and service developments.
Main duties of the job The Clinical Nurse Specialist will contribute to the strategic direction for the development of nursing practice within the Northumberland and North Tyneside Access CBU.
They will take the lead in extending boundaries and creating frameworks for the enhancement of nursing within their speciality.
The post holder will continue to strive towards excellence in nursing care and communicate this excellence to colleagues both within the organisation and externally.
The post holder will work with the Nurse Consultant on nursing developments within this specialist area of practice.
Key Functions: -Offer 'specialist practice' within the service for up to 80% of the post.
-Professional leadership and advice, including clinical supervision.
-Take part in service development of staff, and a range of other agencies, statutory and non-statutory in conjunction with the Nurse Consultant.
With formal academic links established.
-Undertake audit and related activities in aspect of clinical practice, therapeutic intervention and service evaluation involving service users and their families.
-Contribute to the strategic development of the nursing strategy for CNTW.

Job description Job responsibilities The post has been established within the Northumberland and North Tyneside Access CBU, working within Psychiatry Liaison Services.
The post is intended to enhance the clinical expertise available within the service as we continue to develop the service in line with the NHS Long Term Plan.
The successful candidate will work with the service's collective leadership team and wider partners to support the strategic development of the Liaison Services and Community Transformation plans within the North locality.
They will also work directly with service users and the clinical team to provide high-quality care, clinical leadership, supervision and training to influence positive outcomes for people in crisis.
Interested candidates should have specialist clinical knowledge and experience of working with adults experiencing mental health difficulties, and be confident in their ability to lead and manage highly complex cases within a dynamic clinical environment.
