Job overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist to join the Buckinghamshire Community Adult Eating Disorder team as a Deputy Operational Lead.
This is an opportunity to join a friendly and supportive, well-established, and knowledgeable multi-professional team.
You will have access to regular supervision and opportunities to lead on and contribute to service improvements.

Our team is comprised of: Psychologists, Psychiatrist, Nursing staff, Social Worker, Peer Support Worker, Carers Lead, Dietitian, Community Support Workers and Administrators.
The service has good links with colleagues in the Child and Adolescent Eating Disorders Services and also the Adult Community Eating Disorders service in Oxfordshire.Our service is a specialist adult eating disorders service with a reputation for excellence, providing a stepped-care model tailored to the needs of adults with a primary diagnosis of an eating disorder as well as those with co-morbid mental health problems and their carers.
We offer a range of evidence-based treatments and deliver these within the community and inpatient services.
There are opportunities for further training in the evidence-based treatments and the service has incorporated the FREED initiative.
Main duties of the job The main purpose of this role is to support the Operational Lead in the day to day running and delivery of the Adult Community Eating Disorder service whilst also holding a clinical caseload.
This involves: To undertake comprehensive urgent and routine eating disorder assessments alongside the multidisciplinary team.To work alongside the Operational Lead in the management and further development of the Community Eating Disorders team within an agreed clinical model.
This will include developing clinical structures, recruiting staff and implementing the service.To deputise for the Operational Lead when required.To maintain a safe, effective and therapeutic clinical team while ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.To be responsible for the joint line management, case supervision and appraisal of team colleagues.To take a key role in ensuring effective joint working with statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure responsive and appropriate service delivery to patients and carers.To represent the service both externally and internally in respect of all the above.The post holder will be ambitious and have a positive attitude and outstanding clinical skills.
The successful applicant will have excellent interpersonal skills which will enable them to thrive within a multi-disciplinary team context and in working with this complex patient group and their families.

This role will require you to travel between community locations, you must therefore be comfortable with driving for work purposes and able to travel freely within the hours of the role.
Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work.

Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria Qualified RMN or OT with evidence of Professional Registration Desirable criteria Leadership training Experience Essential criteria Post qualification experience in a mental health setting, working with young people or adults with mental illness.
