Nurse Lead

Job overview
Our Buckinghamshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) Eating Disorder Service has recently expanded and been given additional funding in order to transform and enhance its offer. Recent exciting developments include introducing occupational therapy and a carers lead role onto our disciplinary team (MDT).
We're looking for a Nurse Lead to join our strong and supportive MDT. A perfect opportunity for you if you're looking to grow into leadership.
Your overall aim is to provide specialist nursing expertise within the CYP Eating Disorder Service and to have a lead role in supporting young people with complex presentation/those with comorbidities, also working between the service and acute paediatric services to meet the needs of our patients.
We're an inclusive and supportive team - you'll be working within a full MDT from a wide variation of professional backgrounds including psychology, psychiatry family therapy, paediatrics, dietetics, occupational therapy and support workers. We're well supported by an excellent administration team and a visible clinical and operational leadership team too.
We'll need you to be ambitious, have a positive attitude and outstanding clinical skills. Some experience of working within the field of eating disorders would be required.
It is encouraged that you contact Lucy Eaves for an informal conversation about the role and the team. We would also be delighted to arrange visits to meet our friendly team in Aylesbury.
Main duties of the job
As a Nurse Lead working with young people with eating disorders and their families, no two days are the same.
Many of our young people are physically compromised and/or highly distressed often requiring input from other services at the same time. The clinical work is incredibly varied but is always formulation driven and evidence-based. We work very closely with families and caregivers and also offer a range of individual therapies and group work. We also work closely with our connected Adult Eating Disorder service, which is co-located in our offices.
The main component of the role will be to provide high quality specialist therapeutic treatments and physical health monitoring to patients and their carers/families using a range of modalities and to support other staff in providing these interventions (either through joint working or through supervision and consultation).
You will have a lead role in supporting the care of young people with complex presentations and comorbidities.
You will be part of the leadership team ensuring best practice and forward thinking.
You will liaise with other CAMHS teams and other NHS or statutory services and will regularly offer consultation to other teams.
This role will require you to travel between community locations. Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
