The key drivers of change for our clients are: technology implementations, an ambition to be more efficient and effective, and a desire to progress along the maturity curve.We are a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, working together with technology focussed professionals to deliver KPMG Powered Enterprise though a standardised delivery model, which drives professional delivery to clients.Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe role will sit within our Finance Transformation team which brings together consulting professionals with a background in implementing change in finance functions for large corporate clients.
The team works with clients to improve the operating efficiency and effectiveness of their finance functions, often with improvements to their underlying technology solutions.
We aim to take out clients' finance functions beyond being "score keepers" and instead positioning finance as the "co-pilot" to the business, at the centre of driving growth and decision making.Applicants should have prior experience in a large corporate, as well as in-depth knowledge of finance processes and technology.
They should also be able to demonstrate the ability to carry out the following activities:Engagement delivery:Mobilising and managing small to medium sized transformation programmes including planning, managing and executing the delivery of engagementsOrganising work packages, overseeing data gathering and analysis, summarising insights and facilitating workshops to deliver on KPMG's scope of work for a programmeMaintaining a relationship with key client stakeholders, and collaborating with them to co-deliver a programmeIdentifying and exploring finance operating model improvement opportunitiesOverseeing the writing of client reports and the review and quality assurance of work productsManagement of small to medium sized engagement teams including both internal KPMG and external client team membersRisk management:Taking responsibility for identifying and managing risks, engagement assurance, and managing project budgetsSupporting Directors and Partners in ensuring that the Firm's risk management framework is appropriately implementedBusiness development:Supporting the origination of opportunities for the firm through development of client relationships, and expanding existing engagements to address client challenges beyond the initial scope into further phases of workSupporting senior colleagues with the preparation of the Firm's response to client issued request for proposal (RFPs), including managing RFP responses and drafting proposalsBuilding and leveraging both internal and external relationships to support senior colleagues to develop sales opportunities for the firm Supporting senior colleagues in developing market leading materials and a voice-in-the-market through external blogs and points of view and representing KPMG at external events People development:Taking on performance management responsibilities for junior grades, contributing to annual talent reviews and supporting career progressionContributing to formal training, knowledge sharing, and networking activities for the teamSupervising, coaching and reviewing the work performed by peers and colleaguesActing as a mentor to colleagues within the team and in the wider firm, taking responsibility for cultural improvement and living the KPMG values Practice development:Contribute to the development of KPMG specific methodology and intellectual property to further our offerings in the marketSupporting senior colleagues with internal operational responsibilities for the finance transformation team including revenue planning, resourcing, recruitment, wider team development and community buildingSkills, Experience & QualificationsOur Finance Transformation offering looks across the finance function, implementing change to improve all layers of the operating model.Successful candidates should have:6 or more years experience in the finance function of leading corporate companies, or client facing audit or consulting experience at a professional services firmA proven ability to manage finance improvement projects in a leading finance functionA strong knowledge of core finance processes (eg.
record to report, procure to pay, order to cash, projects accounting) interdependencies with other processesExperience with one of the major ERP technologies (Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, WorkDay)A strong grasp of finance function operating models, including: systems, data, processes, controls and governanceHave a proven ability to shape deliverables to meet desired client outcomes Be able to articulate the challenges currently facing finance functions including in relation to the future of the finance function and nascent technologyRelevant large corporates experience and knowledge in one or more of the following sectors: Aerospace & Defence, Consumer Markets, Energy, Industrial Manufacturing, Leisure, Life Sciences, Retail, Technology, Media & TelecommunicationsCore skills and experience:Have people management experience, including line management and performance managementExcellent communicator with the personal skills to build strong and lasting internal and client relationships; and the ability to deliver clear, concise, focused messages to senior finance team members or clientsExperience in implementing finance change programmesRelevant finance qualification - ACA, CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalentKnowledge of how Finance processes are enabled within a finance systems landscape (with a focus of one of the major ERP technologies: Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, WorkDay)
