The North Europe Grid System Integration (GSI) team delivers a wide range of high voltage AC and DC transmission projects, and is looking for a Quality and Compliance Engineer" to join the engineering delivery team.
These large and complex projects are designed and delivered using a wide range of processes and procedures, and it is critical that the processes used are current, fit for purpose and applied rigorously and consistently throughout the full life of the project.
In this role, you will support this objective by undertaking the following key activities across the portfolio of tenders and projects being undertaken: • Perform regular audits to ensure the required processes and procedures are effectively applied, and manage any actions needed to correct non-conformances.
• Work with the function leaders to update existing processes, and develop new procedures as the need arises.
Educate the Engineering teams on the application of processes and the business expectations.
• Lead and manage the capturing and Capitalisation of the learning experienced from the projects being executed, including both the communication of the issue, and process changes to avoid reoccurrence.
Job Description Job Description: As part of this role, you will undertake the following tasks: Process Compliance: Undertake regular audits on the application of the processes used by the Engineering Team at both the tender and project delivery phases.
Identify and document any non-conformance, and manage the undertaking of both the short and long term corrective actions.
Process Maintenance and Development: Identify and undertake the updating of existing procedures in order to create improvement, efficiencies and general maintenance.
Identification of process gaps and the creation of new procedures to resolve the issue.
Ensure that the processes used by the Engineering team are coordinated, both within the Engineering function, and with other parts of the business.
Represent the North and South Europe Region at a global level, for the creation and deployment of high-level centralised Engineering procedures.
From a process development and deployment perspective, support the introduction of continuous improvement actions.
Continually educate the Engineering teams on the application of processes and the business expectations.
Experience Capture and Capitalisation: Lead and manage the capturing and capitalisation of the learning experienced from current and past projects.
Facilitate regular return of experience meetings during the life of the projects in order to systematically capture the learning.
Facilitate both ad-hoc and regular communication sessions to raise awareness of best practice, quality concerns and areas of learning.
Identify and undertake any process changes resulting from both good and bad experiences on the projects.
Requirements: To succeed in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience: A first degree in an engineering discipline.
Proven experience working in a role that has exposure to project delivery activities, and be familiar with the types of processes and procedures used to deliver large capital projects.
Be familiar with quality systems and undertaking process auditing, and be able to undertake and use techniques and tools for process improvement.
Regularly undertakes the creation of business processes & procedures, and provides education to the users.
Has a working knowledge of ISO9001:2015 Desired Characteristics: The successful candidate will have: A systematic and disciplined approach to their work, and be able to present information in a clear and understandable fashion.
Be confident to discuss issues with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts, and be able to propose solutions or improvements to correct deficiencies or improve efficiency.
Be a team player, with good communication and interpersonal skills, be capable of self-management, and have a high degree of flexibility, resilience and a self-learning attitude.
