Job overview This is an exciting opportunity to join the Respiratory team at OUH to deliver and drive forward care for COPD patients, and to work with the internationally recognised pleural team.
The airways team are nationally leading and this replacement post will allow the team to work across both primary and secondary care, whilst delivering tertiary MDT care such as endobronchial valve therapy.
Both units are at the forefront of research, training and delivery and the postholder will be expected to contribute to research across both fields.
The unit works closely with our Thoracic Surgical colleagues to deliver a wide range on interventional bronchoscopy, including rigid bronchoscopy, stenting, endobronchial valves and navigational bronchoscopy.
OUH leads work aligned to deliver novel pathways incorporating AI and nodule follow up, and will be implementing a Lung Health Check Programme.
Main duties of the job The post is to principally support delivery of COPD and pleural services.
OUH has a strong background in delivering excellent COPD care across both primary and secondary care, and works closely with the community COPD MDT within Oxford Health.
This post will continue to drive this relationship forward, whilst also supporting the provision of tertiary COPD care, including endobronchial valves.
The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to research in COPD and link this into pleural disease through the management of pneumothorax.
The post holder will integrate within the internationally leading pleural team at OUH, contributing to procedural lists (including thoracoscopy).
It is envisaged that the successful candidate will lead the development of ambulatory pneumothorax pathways.
